Course introduction – The course starts with an introduction to
the world of bomb threats and their dangers, course ojectives and definitions, and a brief look at bomb threat types.

Motivational factors – Whether real or a hoax, bomb threats are made by perpertrators for a specific reason and are always to be taken seriously. This section details a range of psychological motivators behind the threats which will allow you to develop a sense of the danger you’re faced with.

Response guidelines – This section deals with a detailed examination of all aspects of a bomb threat response plan: Planning and preparation; Receiving a threat; Evacuation; Searches. You will learn to ascertain threat levels and be guided on appropriate responses. Detailed information which can be customized to the specific needs of your organization according to its size, location, and available resources are given. Handy checklists are included.

Evacuation consideration – Factors to consider, types of evacuations, and guidelines on what to consider before emabarking on an evacuation are discussed.

Search operation – The Search operation is a critical component of the bomb threat response. Search principals and techniques, step-by-step instructions on how to conduct an effective and safe search operation by designated role-players are taught in this section. It is further enhanced by a video, illustrating a search operation in progress which you can use as guidance for your own facility.

The HOT rule – A useful acronym that should be in the forefront of all searchers’minds as they perform a search operation for a possible bomb.

Media and communication – Any communication with the media or people outside of the incident should be handled strictly as its sensitive nature could have adverse effects on the outcome of the response.

Recovery from the threat – This section deals with the challenging scenario you will be faced with after all your response activities have taken place, including decision-making and debriefing for all affected parties.

Danny was then Director of Global Risk Assessments at iJET International Inc. which provided operational intelligence to 650 of the Fortune 2000 companies and numerous government agencies. At iJET International Inc., Danny also negotiated with pirates and kidnappers. Danny is now Regional Director, Global Safety and Security at a major hospitality company.
 
Danny has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration (Finance). He also attended the Strategic Leadership Program at Oxford University, ISMA Leadership Program at Georgetown University & Online Executive Program at Cornell University. Danny is Executive Fellow at the Essex Business School, University of Essex where he is pursuing his Doctorate and a lecturer with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University.
 
Danny currently sits on the advisory council of Harvard Business Review, ASIS International Asia Pacific, Overseas Security Advisory Council – Singapore of the U.S. Department of State, Certified Counter Terrorism Practitioner Board and helps to lead the Asia Analyst roundtable.
 
In his free time, Danny volunteers as an Associate Mediator with Singapore Mediation Centre & Small Claims Tribunals – The Subordinate Courts of Singapore and runs his micro social initiative organization called “Making a Difference”.
